Yvette Somoano-Villa, D.O. specializes in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and has been treating patients since 2003.  She is board certified in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (NMM/OMM).   During  treatments she such uses many modalities including but not limited to, Osteopathy in the Cranial Field, Visceral, Lymphatic Drainage and Biodynamic Osteopathy. Dr. Somoano-Villa got her undergraduate degree in Marine Biology at UCLA then went on to medical school at Western University of Health Sciences.  After graduating from Western University, she did a rotating internship at Downey Regional Medical Center, Downey, CA and then her residency in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine/ Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine at St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx, NY.

Dr. Somoano-Villa is interested in facilitating a patient’s journey to healing and does so by understanding the relationship between structure and function that is found within the body while remembering that healing can only be achieved with a balance of mind, body and spirit. She recognizes that all of her patients are unique individuals and looks for keys to each patient’s wellbeing.  Prior illnesses, accidents, lifestyle, diet, and finding out what makes her patients happy all become a part of the healing process.  Through this process, the patient also learns more about how to help themselves, empowering them to find and maintain a healthy balance on their own.
